PHRAE
The provincial capital is 551 kilometers north of Bangkok. The
province is noteworthy for several temples, including Phra That Cho
Hae with its golden chedi, Wat Phra That, which houses a Buddha
relic, Wat Luang and Wat Phra Non. The Phae Muang Phi Forest Park
some 18 kilometers from the provincial capital, features earthen
pillars created from wind and soil erosion. Ban Na Thum, Ban Hua
Thung and Ban Na Mon produce distinctive Tin Ckok woven cloth. The
Mae Yom National Park and Wang Ko Sai National Park offer nature
lovers different aspects of northern Thai topography, including teak
forests, waterfalls and hot water springs.
